For many years my happiness depended on the people and material item around me. Numerous times I felt in adequate for the lack of validation I received for simply being myself. Deep insecurities came from my way of thinking, the color of my skin, the texture of my hair and the value of the clothes I wore.
If the men I thought were my ideal match did not see me in the same light, the confidence in my own beauty took a deep plunge downward. My strength in sparking and keeping conversations with others barely existed because of my own mental limitations. Pairing those realities with societies images of women and especially women of color, fighting my own demons was a challenge.
I needed a change and positive inspiration that I was not used to receiving daily. I needed an outlet so motivating that it was hard to believe I too could adapt that mindset. I needed growth in all aspects of my spiritual, physical and mental being. At the age of 21 I made a promise to outgrow my protective turtle shell and allow myself to find the true me. I decided to fight my own battles. I began placing myself in uncomfortable situations to force growth along my path.
I became the motivation for others while staying the inspiration for my own personal growth. All I've ever known were words and the freedom to express myself accordingly. I have fought crusade after crusade only to find myself still preparing for the next battle. I made another promise to myself in an attempt to move deeper in my growth while motivating my supporters along the way. I'm embarking on an enhanced journey of self-love, clarity and confident influence.
As we move through the course of 2016, join me and let's face more of our personal battles daily. Take the time to analyze and evaluate what we truly want out of our lives. Most importantly, spend 15 to 30 minutes a day brainstorming our ideas in a free unstressed environment.
Use the soundtrack of crusade to inspire your thoughts and feed your subconscious mind. Inform a friend or two about your personal growth commitment and allow yourself to be held accountable. My supporters hold me accountable every day whenever I feel depressed, defeated and completely confused on the next step in my life. I am constantly reminded of my purpose.
Isn't it time you create your opportunities and focus in on your personal battles? The journey is painful yet enlightening. Scary though an all-around world of curiosity. This is your life. Every day counts. This is your battle, this is your Crusade. Begin your mental stimulation now...
Sincerely Brooke Jean
