Poetic Monday: Warrior

We have infinite knowledge right at our fingertips
Our inability to grow is a self-inflicted wound

Our ability to point fingers and place blame
is deeply rooted from past pain
that we've never really coped with.

Our need to flourish and rise above tribulations
comes with action, follow though and follow up.

Every month there's a hashtagged name to lift up,
bringing awareness to our countries issues.
Every week our city is blowing each other's brains out
condescending the whole purpose, adding to tissues.

Where are our warriors?

Where are the people who take a second
to cherish life minus the material gains?

Where are the humans who love without fear
dropping their pride off at the cemetery
because they know their purpose is much bigger

Where are the coloreds who fought so hard for peace
because the black people of 2015 are so bullet proof
from King's dream, they could care less about these streets.

Your backyards are bleeding
while your country commits Genocide
Your media is demeaning
while your children are growing up with blind eyes.

We need more warriors
Thought provoking, conversationists
who aren't afraid to break the glass
in case of an emergency.

Soldiers so aware of their power
they aren't consumed by distractions
because it hasn't gotten any better
you are watching it get worse.

Until that hearse comes rolling around
your neighborhood bearing your family members name
you're going to keep pretending its a game
but in the meantime...

I'll keep sparking the unconscious minds of today
waiting on those other warriors to finally awake.

Different foundations and environments
that remind you...

you are welcome to be free

let your genetic makeup, create your REALITY

You've been racing through this marathon
realizing the finish line is actually a hallucination

L I F E does not cease with the first battle of success
you must conquer the next, and the next, and the next

A psychotic cycle of beautiful goals
you continue to idolize your priorities
then watch how the sun shines
allowing your light to radiate over everything

Personal success is begging you,
down on its hands and feet
Are you ready to accept its truth?

It's only one finish line we've crossed
there are plenty more en route.

We all have peripheral vision
constantly taunting us with wants
urging us to bypass all our needs
how glutton can we be?

Billboards telling you you're not good enough
magazines whispering insecurities in your ear
social media throwing you in comparison charts
how vain can we be?

Peer influence of excessive intoxication
overly rebellious actions forget about consequences
forget about the futures vision
how can we FOCUS IN?

Discipline of self is the hardest yet most efficient solution
controlling urges from steering you off your path of righteousness
You deserve the right to resist and refrain yourself
Your follow up was on POINT, who can stop your wealth?

At the end of the day, you are the eye of the operation
The beginning and ending of a beautiful creation
Your future is waiting on your patience
Will you take heed of the message...

...or lose focus right before you reach the finish line?

You've successfully taken that fundamental step
Raising eyebrows and sparking interest around you
Your confidence in self is so tremendous
Who dares to ignore your presence?

I'll tell you...

Many of the begin but never enders
"Let's work" pretenders
Non-supportive befrienders
All of sudden notice your follow up

They see the beauty in your work ethics
They hear the people speaking up on your blessings
They are intimidated by your ability to fall through, being 100% you

You are the billboard for personal success
Your endurance will take you beyond this universe
Your dysfunctional past will produce a glorious future

Darts, daggers and spears will continue to cross your path
Its within you to step forward
and its up to you to keep going.

You can only be you.

FALL THROUGH

I know it’s the hardest thing in the world

To stand there without any barriers of protection

Allowing forces beyond your control to freely roam in your personal space

Nothing can take away your strength

Everything will try and test your faith

You must stay bold and unique

Guarantee you there is only one YOU in this world

So why would you cover your vulnerability for the next person to accept you

Being human is what makes you a being of love

How can you freely be yourself if you’re masking the best version of you?

Deep truths, beautiful flaws

Let your spirit move through the atmospheric energy

Watch the boomerang affect

Effect the people in your universe

Only then do you open up abstract ideas

Only then do you develop morals removing all of your fears

Only then do you build your values from the bottom up

Change begins within and you're on the path of self-righteousness
